New Mattresses for the LUM Shelter

The LUM Emergency Shelter will soon have new mattresses in all 45 beds. Thanks to a grant from The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, LUM was able to place an order for 45 new mattresses, mattress covers and pillow covers from Holder Bedding Inc.

Adam Sechrest

As a result of LUM’s order, the Holder Bedding Inc. hired a new employee. To assist with the LUM mattress order, Holder Bedding hired Adam Sechrest. Adam is an Iraq War Veteran who was wounded in the line of duty. Adam joins Jonathan Fields, sales manager, and Merrick Steinmetz, production manager, in manufacturing the new mattresses for LUM at the Lafayette plant of the Holder Bedding Inc.

Holder Bedding Inc. is a family-owned and operated business that has been making high quality mattresses in Lafayette since 1947.

The grant from The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette is having a tremendous positive impact locally – new mattresses in the LUM Emergency Shelter, increased business for Holder Bedding, and a new employment opportunity in our community.
